Day 1: Marangu Gate to Maundi Crater - Mount Kilimanjaro
Trekking
Pick up form the hotel in
Arusha, Drive to the Marangu Gate, after registration start
trekking towards Mandara Hut, where you can rest and unpacking,
then proceed to Maundi Crater, which is famous for the flowers
and scenery. After taking a view of the crater, go back to
Mandara Hut for dinner and overnight at Mandara Hut
Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut - Mount Kilimanjaro Trekking
Breakfast at Mandara then
head-up the trail towards Horombo Hut. After few hours of
trekking, the trail gets out of dense rain forest and mud into
alpine heather and open moorland meadow, getting a spectacular
view of the Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks. Dinner and overnight stay at
Horombo Hut
Day 3: Horombo – Zebra Rock – Marangu Gate - Mount Kilimanjaro
After breakfast start climbing
towards Zebra Rock, a small, exposed cliff face with zebra-like
striped, it should take 2 to 3 hours to reach this far. Rest for
a while, and start descending to Horombo for lunch, after lunch
continue going down towards Marangu Gate via Mandara Hut. Meet
the driver and then drive back to Arusha for hot shower, dinner
and overnight stay
Day 4: Arusha - Tarangire National Park Safari
Pickup from
the hotel in Arusha and depart for Tarangire National Park.
Spend the rest of the day exploring the national park till late
afternoon, and then drive to the Tarangire River Camp for dinner
and overnight (picnic lunch will be provided in the afternoon)
Day 5: Ancient Engaruka Ruins & Culture Tour
After breakfast drive to
Engaruka Ancient Place to see ruins, the Oldest Irrigation
System in Tanzania, and graves, which were constructed 500 years
ago. Have the opportunity to see how the Maasai people still
proud of their culture by visiting Engaruka Maasai Village and
their BOMAS. Dinner and overnight camping at Engaruka village
Day 6: Lake Natron Safari & Sightseeing
Drive to the Lake Natron and
visit the eastern side of the lake game viewing. With marvelous
view of River streams flowing from the base of Mt. Gelai (the
extinct Volcano north of Ol Doinyo Lengai Mountain); having
opportunities to seeing large flocks of flamingos, herds of
zebra, wildebeest and gazelle. The lake is the only breeding
place for the 2.5 million Lesser Flamingoes that live in the
valley. As an option, hiking the Ngare Sero Gorge to the
waterfalls or other gorges in the area; you will be briefed on
the climb at the camp after dinner. Dinner and Overnight at the
campsite near Ol doinyo Lengai
Day 7: Trekking Ol doinyo Lengai
Early Morning (probably 3 am)
take light breakfast at the camp; at 4 am or earlier start the
trail. It is a long and steep climbing of the active volcanic
mountain in Africa that could take from 6 to 8 hours (Up and
Down)
The amazing views of the small
crater, the lava that is flowing over the edge and the Rift
Valley are spectacular; at a clear day light the Mt Kilimanjaro
and Mt Meru are all visible. Descend to camp for lunch and rest
before driving to Lake Manyara for dinner and overnight camping
Day 8: Lake Manyara Safari –Arusha Town
Early breakfast at the campsite
and then drive to Lake Manyara Park for Game drive with picnic
lunch. At 15:30 start driving back to Arusha .
