Gombe TANAPA Hostel |
|
The Hostel is a public accommodation built and managed
by Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA). It is a basic and
low cost accommodation for self catering.
Facilities including 8 rooms with twin beds with basic
bed linen, outside shower and toilets which shared by
all guests, and there is also heater for hot water.
We
provide a guide cum cook for preparing all meals while
you are staying at the Hostel in Gombe
|
Besides chimpanzees, primates
inhabiting Gombe Stream include beachcomber olive
baboons, red-tailed monkeys and velvet monkeys. The
park is also home to over 200 bird species and bush
pigs. There are also 11 species of snakes, and
occasional hippopotamus and leopards are seen

 Day 1: Dar es Salaam - Kigoma
Leave Dar es Salaam to
Kigoma
at 08:30 by
Air Tanzania (only flight currently operating daily)
; pick up
from the airport and transfer to Kigoma
Hi-tech
Hotel (BB) for
overnight.
Day 2: Kigoma – Gombe Stream
Pickup from the hotel in Kigoma and drive
to the beach for a boat ride to
Gombe
National Park;
chimpanzee tracking in the forest with lunch at the Gombe
Rest house; dinner and overnight at the Gombe Kasekela
Hostel (FB)
Day 3 & 4: 2 full Days Chimpanzee Tracking
and Birding
Breakfast at the camp; game viewing/ chimpanzee
tracking and bird watching in the forest; climb to the Kakombe water falls at the
park. Lunch at the camp/rest house; Dinner at the Gombe
Kasekela Hostel (FB)
Day 5: Gombe – Kigoma – Dar es Salaam
Breakfast in the park and then boat ride to
Kigoma for your onward travel back to Dar es Salaam by 13:55 PW0484
