Day 1: Lake Manyara
Active Safari

Morning pick up from the
hotel in Arusha and drive to Lake
Manyara National Park for full day
game viewing with picnic lunch; the park
provides excellent opportunities to see
among others buffalo, wildebeest,
flamingoes, elephants and if you are
lucky you might find tree climbing
lions. Dinner and overnight at Serena
Lodge/Octagon Safari Lodge

Day 2: Ngorongoro
Highlands Walks
-
Transfer in the morning
to the Ranger’s Post near Maasai Village
of Nainokanoka (Ngorongoro Highlands)
for trekking to Olmoti Crater; Hike up
the side of Olmoti Crater and to the top
of crater waterfall. Descend into the
Olmoti Crater floor and pursue game
viewing on foot. Picnic lunch at the
waterfall, hike back to the Nainokanoka
Maasai Village, meet the driver and
drive to Sopa Lodge Ngorongoro for
dinner and overnight

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
Tour

Drive to
Ngorongoro; descend to the Crater floor
for a full day tour with packed
lunch boxes. Dinner and overnight at
Serena Safari Lodge/Wildlife Lodge in
Ngorongoro

Day 4: Olduvai Gorge &
Shifting Sands
-
Drive to the
Olduvai Gorge, an archaeological
site and the shifting sands, lunch at
picnic site. The Olduvai Gorge is an
archaeological site located in the
eastern Serengeti Plains, which is in
northern Tanzania. The gorge is a very
steep sided ravine roughly 30 miles long
and 295 ft. deep. Exposed deposits show
rich fossil fauna, many hominid remains
and items belonging to the one of the
oldest stone tool technologies, called
Olduwan. The time span of the objects
recovered date from 2,100,000 to 15,000
years ago. Late afternoon drive to
Karatu for dinner and overnight at the
Serena Lodge/Lake Manyara Hotel

Day 5: Lake Natron
Flamingo Tour and the waterfall
-
Drive to the
Lake Natron and visit the eastern
side of the lake for game viewing. The
lake is the only breeding place for the
2.5 million Lesser Flamingoes that live
in the valley. As an option, hiking the
Ngare Sero Gorge to the waterfalls or
other gorges in the area; You will be
briefed on the climb at the camp after
dinner. Dinner and Overnight at the
Lake Natron Camp

Day
6:
Oldoinyo Lengai Hikes
-
Early Morning (probably
1:00am) take light breakfast at the
camp; at 2 am or earlier start the
trail. It is a long and steep climbing
of the active volcanic mountain in
Africa that could take from 6 to 8
hours. The amazing views of the small
crater, the lava that is flowing over
the edge and the Rift Valley are
spectacular; at a clear day light the
Mt Kilimanjaro and
Mt Meru are all visible. Descend to
the Camp for lunch and drive back to Arusha
