The current schedule departing from TAZARA station Dar es Salaam is Monday 09.00, Tuesday 15.50 and Friday 15.50.
 

Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Selous Reserve

Depart Dar es Salaam TAZARA station on Tuesday at 15.50 for Kisaki, Selous Game Reserve, the journey that takes about 5 ½ hours passing through rural villages and Selous Game Reserve. Pickup from the Halt and transfer to Sable Mountain Lodge for Overnight

Day 2: Game Drive combined with Boat Safari

Full day game drives through game rich areas, to Lake Tagalala; combined with boat safari on Lake Tagalala. Late afternoon return to Sable Mountain Lodge for dinner

Day 3: Game Drive

Breakfast, full day game drive, dinner and overnight at Sable Antelope Lodge/Campsite

Day 4: Walking Safari – Fly Camping

After a morning relaxing around the camp, set off by car for the Kimara mobile camp in the North-West of Selous, arrive there in time for a short walk in the area. Dinner and overnight at the camp

Day 5: Walking Safari – Fly Camping

Early morning foot walking safari, following the sand river, and looking for close encounters with big game from giraffes, and buffalo, to hippos and elephants; Afternoon game drive into Kinyaguru. Overnight at the Kimara fly camping

Day 6: Mgeta River Walking Excursion

Set off on a magnificent walk across the interior bush away from the rivers, cutting north and eventually reaching the Mgeta River. Overnight at the Mgeta mobile camp

Day 7:  Walking Safari – Mgeta Fly Camping

Early morning walk from the camp following the Mgeta East away from magnificent Uluguru Mountain backdrop. Afternoon walk through the interior bush behind the camp

Day 8: Game drive

Game drive enroute while going back to Sable Mountain Lodge. Late afternoon relax on the terrace. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 9: Leave the Reserve for Dar/Zanzibar

Depending on the flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airstrip at Matambwe for light airplane to Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar.
