Day 1: Dar es Salaam - Selous Game Reserve

Leaving
Dar es Salaam for Selous Game Reserve at 8.30, for a 5 hours
journey with enroute lunch; drive to the park gate and start
with short game drive along Rufiji River for few hours
before sunset. Dinner and overnight at our
camp
on the river bank

Day 2: Game Drive - Rufiji River Boat Safari

Game
drives in the morning till lunch time which
followed
by 2 – 3 hours of
Boat
safari on the Rufiji River late afternoon. Dinner
and overnight at the Camp

Day 3: Full day game drive

Full
day game drive after breakfast, ending
evening
after sunset game drives; lunch will be picnic away from the
Camp. Dinner and overnight at the Camp

Day 4: Walking Excursion - Plane to Mafia
Island
-
Morning walking safari for 2 to 3 hours, return to the camp
for early lunch and then transfer to the airstrip ready to
leave for Mafia Island via Dar es Salaam. Pick up from the
Kilindoni Airport and transfer to Mafia Island Lodge for
dinner and
overnight

Day 5: off-shore islands excursion

Excursion to Chole Island, which is packed with numerous
ancient ruins including largest ruin of the German colonial
administrator; walking tour to see boat-building,
sail-making, hand-manufacture of coconut coir ropes; nature
walking tour to ancient coral rock swimming pools;
Picnic lunch will be offered during the excursion

Day 6: Day Trip to Jibondo Island

Jibondo - The island of Jibondo is at about an hour's
boat-trip from Utende and is characterized by the unique
conformation of the western tip and the surrounding
emerald-green waters. The village is mainly inhabited by
fishermen whose fish and octopus drying and net-mending
activities are of great interest to tourists together with
the traditional shipyard, one of the most famous in
Tanzania. The trip includes a break for snorkeling and lunch
on a beach; accommodation at Mafia Island Lodge

Day 7: Stay at Leisure

Spend
a day at Mafia Island
Lodge: swimming and sunbathe or just walking, accommodation
at Mafia Island Lodge

Day 8: Return to Dar es Salaam
-
Breakfast and lunch at Mafia Island Lodge, and then rest;
around 15:30 transfer to Kilindoni Airport for a return
plane to Dar es Salaam
