Day 1: Tarangire National Park
Breakfast in Arusha and then
drive to Tarangire for a full day Game Drives in the national park; The
Park is famous for large number of elephants and birds as well as
migrant wildebeest along the permanent river Tarangire. Late afternoon
drive to Mto WA Mbu for dinner and overnight at Twiga Lodge (budget)
Day 2: Culture Tour/Walking to Olmoti Crater in the
Ngorongoro
Drive
to the Maasai Village in the Ngorongoro Highlands (Nainokanoka) for
culture tour and walking excursions to the Olmoti Crater; dinner and
overnight at Nainokanoka Village (special camping)
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Tour
Descend to the Ngorongoro Crater for full day game drive in a pop up
roof 4WD, lunch on the crater floor as picnic. Ngorongoro Crater is
boasting exceptional game and bird viewing opportunities. Dinner and
overnight at Simba Campsite in Ngorongoro
Day 4: Olduvai Gorge and Shifting Sands – Seronera
Drive
to the Olduvai Gorge, an archaeological site with game viewing enroute,
visit the museum and the volcanic ash dune of Shifting Sands situated
nearby lunch at Olduvai. Late afternoon drive to Seronera for dinner and
overnight Campsite
Day 5: Full Day Game viewing in Serengeti
Be
familiarized with Seronera Valley famous for big cats especially in
October and November when the grass at its lowest and the animals all
coming in to water, this is the period for record sightings; late
afternoon drive to Lobo for dinner and overnight camping
Day 6: Serengeti National Parks
After breakfast
game drives in Lobo Area enjoying en route game viewing. Full day of
game viewing and Serengeti Plain exploration possibility of reaching
Mara River where migrations are in October/November; Dinner and
overnight at Serengeti Lobo Campsite
Day 7: Serengeti Game Drive
Full day game
drive in the northern Serengeti with either picnic lunch box; dinner &
overnight at Serengeti Lobo Campsite
Day 8: Lake Natron
Drive to the Lake Natron and
visit the eastern side of the lake for game viewing. The
lake is the only breeding place for the 2.5 million Lesser Flamingoes
that live in the valley. As an option, hiking the Ngare Sero Gorge to
the waterfalls or other gorges in the area;
you will be briefed on the climb
at the camp after dinner. Dinner and Overnight at the campsite near Oldoinyo Lengai (camping only)
Day 10: Climbing Oldoinyo Lengai
Early Morning (probably 3 am)
take light breakfast at the camp; at 4 am or earlier start the trail. It
is a long and steep climbing of the active volcanic mountain in Africa
that could take from 6 to 8 hours.
The amazing views of the small
crater, the lava that is flowing over the edge and the Rift Valley are
spectacular; at a clear day light the Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru are all
visible. Descend to the Campsite for lunch and drive back to Arusha
