Day 1: Arusha National Park
full day
game drives to the
Arusha National Park with an option of walking within a park with an
armed park ranger.
Late afternoon drive back to Arusha for dinner and overnight at
SG Resort
Day 2: Lake Manyara
Breakfast at the Arusha SG Resort and
then drive to Lake Manyara for a full day Game viewing in the national park with a picnic
lunch boxes at Msasa Picnic Site. Dinner and overnight at Kudu Campsite
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Tour
After breakfast descend to the
Ngorongoro Crater for a half day tour with packed lunch boxes:
game viewing and bird watching; after picnic lunch ascend to the
crater rim for dinner and overnight at Simba Campsite
Day 4: Olduvai Gorge
After breakfast drive to the
Olduvai Gorge, an archaeological site with game viewing enroute,
lunch at
Ngorongoro. Late afternoon drive to Mto WA Mbu for dinner and
overnight at the Simba Campsite
Day 5 :Ancient Engaruka Ruins & Culture Tour
After breakfast drive to Engaruka
Ancient Place to see the Oldest Irrigation System, and graves. Maasai
culture Tour, Dinner and overnight camping at Engaruka village
Day 6: Lake Natron
Drive to the
Lake Natron for bird watching: large flocks of flamingos, herds of
zebra, wildebeest and gazelle. Briefings on the climb at the camp after dinner.
Campsite near
Ol doinyo Lengai
Day 7: Climbing Ol doinyo Lengai
Early Morning (probably 3
am) take light breakfast at the camp; at 4 am or earlier start the
trail. It is a long and steep climbing of the active volcanic mountain
in Africa that could take from 6 to 8 hours.
The amazing views of the
small crater, the lava that is flowing over the edge and the
Rift Valley are spectacular; at a clear day light the
Mt Kilimanjaro and
Mt Meru
are all visible; Descend to the Campsite for lunch and
drive back to Arusha
