Udzungwa Mountain National Park is in the list of the top ten forests for bird conservation in Africa. With local endemic species of Udzungwa partridge,  rufous-winged sunbird and the African tailor bird, others include African Marabou, Rappel?s Vulture, Crowned Eagle and Martial eagle, African Hobby, Scaly Francolin, African Green Pigeon. Southern Tanzania Safaris

 
Southern Tanzania Safari includes Mikumi, Ruaha, Udzungwa National Parks, Selous Game Reserve  (See Map of Selous Game Reserve), Kilombero Game Controlled Area and Kitulo Plateau National Park. The southern Safari offer variety of activities giving visitors opportunity to be close to the wilderness of Tanzania:
All safaris to the southern Tanzania start from Dar es Salaam unless it is a fly-in, which can start from northern circuit, Zanzibar, Pemba and Mafia Island.
It is also easy after safari to go and relax on beaches of Bagamoyo, Dar es Salaam, Mafia Island, Pemba and Zanzibar.
Selous Game Reserve Safari

Selous Game Reserve contains the world's largest concentrations of elephants, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippopotamuses. Other animals include leopard and wild dogs (the reserve has one third of world population of wild dogs), as well as lions. Antelopes, white bearded wildebeest and giraffes are commonly seen north side of the river
Variety of bird life: fish eagle, African Skimmer, waders, herons, kingfisher and weavers. Main Activities: River boat safaris, walking excursions, and game drives are encouraged. For detail of the reserve click here
Ruaha National Park
Many who visited Ruaha National Park at the right season, rate it as favorite anywhere in the continent. The park is extremely interesting as it presents the transition zone where southern African and eastern African Species of flora and fauna overlap; therefore, it has unique variety of animals, birds and vegetation. Mikumi National Park Mikumi Sagari

Mikumi National Park

Mikumi National Park main feature is Mkata flood plain, a large area of swamp and black soil, with plenty and variety of plain animals, including Elephant, Buffalo, Lion and Leopard along with many other animals like  impala, bush back, jackals and baboon. In the "Miombo" woodland of the mountain ranges and foothills, you are likely to have opportunities to see Hartebeests, sable antelope, greater kudu, Colobus monkey and wild dogs. Kitulo Plateau is home to orchids flower. For six months of the year it is covered with spectacular wild flowers as well, and is home to many species of birds, including the blue sparrow. The plateau has an enormous variety of rare flowers (with 350 species of vascular plants documented to date), including many species of ground orchid, and is one of the great natural flower gardens of the world.
