Bordering the Ruaha National Park, Rungwa Game Reserve composed by hills of scrub mixed with patches of forest along the streams and the Mpera River valley, which provide water in the dry season and becoming the best game viewing areas from July to November.  Ruaha National Park-Rungwa-Kizigo-Muhesi Game Reserve Ecosystem is the second largest wildlife area in Tanzania after the Selous Game Reserve
Vegetation
The Rungwa Game Reserve is covered primarily with Miombo woodlands giving visitors access to some of the best big game viewing. It is huge and wide spread reserve, covering large part of Central and West Tanzania.
Wildlife Attraction
The predominant wildlife species in Rungwa Game Reserve are: Lions, Leopard, Buffalo, Eland, Saber, Nibble, Great Kudu, Grysbok, Klipspringer, Oribi, Hartebeest, Liechtenstein, Impala, Zebra, Hippo, Crocodile and Bushpig.
It is unspoiled reserve, though affected considerably by commercial hunting/poaching, provides the excellent habitation for lion and hyena. It regarded to have largest concentration of bird species feeding themselves in the valleys.
Accessibility
The area can be accessed from Chunya and Usangu in Mbeya or Tabora and Mpanda via Inyonga Village
