Northern Tanzania Safari Circuit, is one of the most popular destination for safaris in the world. The area covers the endless plains of Serengeti, the world’s largest volcanic caldera in Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara at the edge of the rift valley Escarpment, Tarangire National Park with its permanent water source and harbor large population of elephants; the highest Mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro, and the second highest in Tanzania Mount Meru within the Arusha National Park. Other places to visit in the northern circuit include Mkomazi Game Reserve, which is known for reintroduction of the black rhino, with animals being brought in from South Africa, and wild dogs. Pare and Usambara mountain which are part of Eastern Arc (chain of mountains in Kenya and Tanzania that are influenced by the Indian Ocean)
