Mafia Island Big Game Fishing - Mafia Island Safari

General: Mafia Island is favorite haunt of pelagic game fish. The fishing normally takes place at the deep-sea crescent east of the island and Songo Songo Archipelago (regarded to be one of the most exciting fishing game ground in the world).
Fish Types: Among the fishes that can be caught here are: Barracuda, Flying fish, Triggerfish, Red mullet and Parrotfish, marlin. sailfish, shark, tunny, kingfish, red snapper and karsambisi .
Sefo Reef: Big game fishing is also takes place in the Sefo Reef, which lies in the Mafia Channel west of the island. Huge schools of barracuda, king mackerel and other hunters are often sighted.
Season: In some parts of the island fishing takes place anytime of the year. Other parts are affected by strong winds and rough sea from monsoon, making year round fishing impossible.
