Mwanza is the second largest city in Tanzania, located on the southern shore of Lake Victoria. Built on the rocky hills out onto a narrow peninsula providing great view of the Lake Victoria. Dominated by rocky outcrops, the famous landmark being the Bismarck's Rock. Mwanza is the place where the earliest 18th century's explorers visited in their quest to find the source of River Nile

Mwanza is the cultural center of Tanzania’s largest ethnic group, the Wasukuma, with Sukuma Village Museum, the first Tanzania's tribal Museum, promotes and celebrates the traditional and contemporary arts of the Sukuma culture; other attraction include Saanane Island Wildlife Sanctuary; Rubondo Island National Park and Karagwe.  Cycling around the city is possible (for prior arrangements)

It is near to several game reserves and national parks such as Maswa, Biharamulo, Burigi , Rumanyika Game Reserve,   and Rubondo and Serengeti National Park.

The City is well-linked with other town, such as Bukoba, Shinyanga, Musoma and Tabora, as well as Kisumu in Kenya and Kampala Uganda. Daily flight to Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar Kigoma and Arusha
