Monduli Village: located
on the north-west of
Arusha town, an hour drive. The area that inhabited by Maasai tribe,
offers the opportunity or forest hiking to the nearby Monduli Mountain
and
culture
interaction with Maasai tribesmen living on the mountains, which combined with night celebrations and Maasai Barbeque. An armed
ranger will accompany all visitors in this area.
The mountain is dominated with forest reserve covered by
rainforest type of vegetations (dense bamboo zones, moss covered
indigenous mountain rainforests and open glades) full of birdlife,
includes rare species such as the Turaco, a variety of sunbirds, eagles
and also Lammergeyer. It is also home to buffalo, elephant, bushbuck and
reedbuck, eland antelope, leopard and various primates.
Monduli Mountain summit
provide the marvellous viewing of Mountain Kilimanjaro and Meru (on a
clear sun day). Descending
allows you to reach another Maasai Village of Enguik
, with the opportunity of visiting
several Maasai Bomas in the village.
Oldoinyo Sambu Maasai Village
is located 36
km north-west of
Arusha
on the main Arusha-Nairobi highway. the village also offers cultural
tour by visiting Maasai Boma, interacting with them which gives the
opportunity of learning about Maasai culture; visit a colourful
Maasai Market which is held once a week, which brings in people from
different direction to trade, drink and eat. Other activities
include walking and hiking excursions on the nearby hills.
